The bloke can drive, its as simple as that. A lot of people tend to think of him as a racecaller who drives the occasional horse but of all the claiming drivers out there he is definitely in the top bracket. I definitely don't have any hesitation in backing a horse I like if he has got the reins.
Sure, when he started out a couple of years ago it was a bit of a novelty and a few of his early drives probably got noticed more than others due to his profile but it is time to stop thinking of him as a part-time driver and I think his record speaks for itself. So far this season, he has had 72 drives for 11 winners which isn't startling in itself but it has him sitting in 7th position in the Concession Drivers standings which is a great effort considering a few just above him have the backing of top stables which Adam doesn't have.
I actually believe the racecalling experience gives him an advantage over a lot of his contemporaries in that it gives him the ability to be able to read a race based on the fact he is familiar with the horses he is taking on. A few owners obviously believe in his ability as well as he has driven horses of the calibre of Albert Jaccka and Make Waves to success which in itself is a feather in his cap.
Just wanted to put it out there as it tends to denegrade his actual ability as a driver when he is continually referred to as a racecaller who also drives.
