Meeting Summary - Launceston October 24

Drive of the Night

Rohan Hadley, pretty clear cut actually and could have gone to either of his drives on Aapennon or Rememberpreece as both were perfect but the latter gets the nod. It was excruciating for me to watch actually as I laid the winner at the short odds and also backed the 2nd horse (Kept Calm) at huge odds to win $2k and it beat me by a nose on the line. Suffice to say, if he didn't drive it perfectly it doesn't win

Also thought that Rohan Hillier's drive on Bonny Wee Laddie was exemplary and Ricky Duggan again showed why he has been such a good driver for a long time with a couple of copybook drives. Kate MacLeod's drive on El Jays Modeena from barrier 8 was worthy of victory and deserves a mention but unfortunately just misses the cut

Notable performances - 6 winners absolutely walked in

Aapennon, is flying at the moment and should continue on winning ways
Empty Envelope, super performance at first start and looks a good horse
Crash Cart, been promising a lot for a while but finally delivered
Denvers Boy, well deserved win and is just a good, honest horse
Bubbas A Fake, looked well graded on best form and showed it
Bonny Wee Laddie, killing them in the claimers at present

A few went okay behind Denvers Boy (The Jouster, Balencia, Thabela Brioso, Rushin Courage) but form from mile races can be dodgy

Muppet of the Night

Me again, I left Bubbas A Fake out of my quaddie despite rating her a $8 chance. Just silly
